Free science-of-reading webinars this fall
Updated September 2, 2026 · 82 sessions
Science-of-reading professional learning has changed shape over the last few years. The early wave of webinars spent most of an hour defending the research base; the sessions running this fall largely assume you accept it and move on to the harder question of what a Tuesday morning looks like when you do. That shift makes this a genuinely useful season for coaches and curriculum leads rather than a repeat of what you already sat through.
The sessions collected here are free to attend and delivered online, which matters when your substitute budget will not stretch to release time. They range from phonics scope-and-sequence decisions in the early grades to adolescent literacy and knowledge-building in the content areas — the part of the reading conversation that districts consistently underinvest in.
If you are building a fall PD calendar from this list, we would pair one instructional session with one assessment or data session. Teams that only do the instruction half tend to change practice without ever being able to show that it worked.

Participants will examine how instruction changes as texts become more complex and learn practical strategies to address reading gaps using the science of teaching reading.
