Developing and Using Proficiency Scales in the Classroom Virtual Workshop

A two-part virtual workshop (October 27 and November 3, 2026, 2–5 p.m. ET) on what effective teachers do to target and measure improved student learning. Participants explore the research on goal setting and two kinds of learning goals, then learn to design goals aligned to proficiency scales, measure student performance, and track results — distinguishing true learning goals from activities, understanding declarative versus procedural knowledge, translating broad standards into specific goals, and differentiating for student needs.
