A one-day (6-hour) virtual workshop from Responsive Classroom for educators of grades K-12. Disruptions can derail learning, drain your energy, and steal valuable teaching time, even in the best-run classrooms. Build the confidence and skills to consistently and effectively handle common misbehavior without escalating the situation or compromising student dignity. You will explore the common causes of verbal conflict, practice communication strategies that help students navigate disagreements respectfully, and apply teacher language that de-escalates conflict and supports student regulation. You will leave with practical strategies for preventing and responding to disruptive behavior, ready-to-use teacher language that redirects behavior while maintaining positive relationships, and greater confidence in creating a focused learning environment. Includes a certificate of completion and resource book. Session group: Mountain/Pacific.
