Rethinking Executive Function Through Whole-Class Design

When students struggle to begin, sustain, or complete tasks, it is often attributed to effort or motivation, but these challenges are frequently rooted in executive function demands. This session reframes executive function as a shared instructional responsibility and explores whole-class design strategies for task initiation, task completion, self-monitoring, planning and organizing, and working memory.
