Custom-Designing Chatbots for Learning

Educational chatbots are everywhere, from common classrooms to Khan Academy, and the results are mixed. To understand why, this session examines the lessons learned and the bots that were built when dozens of college instructors collaboratively explored AI-mediated learning of language and content through Playlab app development. Instructor-created chatbots designed for learning through communication are analyzed and shared, with tips for building original chatbots.
