What started as a single vermicompost bin in one classroom has grown into a district-wide program diverting more than 20,000 pounds of lunch waste annually, with composting education in every classroom and gardens serving schools and the broader community. Participants will explore how multi-partner collaboration can transform school gardens into community hubs and leave with practical tools including best practices, a partner mapping template and a planning framework. Part of the 2026 Growing School Gardens Summit Webinar Series.
