K-12 cybersecurity webinars in October 2026

October is the busiest month of the year for school cybersecurity training, and that is not an accident: Cybersecurity Awareness Month gives technology directors an internal excuse to pull staff into a room, and the vendor and nonprofit calendars fill up accordingly. The problem is that a district team of three cannot attend fifteen webinars. This roundup is our attempt to make the month navigable.

We have grouped the sessions by the job they help you do rather than by the buzzword in the title. Some are foundational — control frameworks, identity hygiene, the unglamorous work of patching and logging — and are worth sending to a newer network administrator. Others are incident-led: a presenter walks through what actually happened during a ransomware event, which is far more persuasive in a board presentation than a maturity model.

A practical suggestion: pick one framework session and one incident postmortem, send a second person to each, and skip the rest. Recordings for most of these appear on the organizer's site within a week, and we link them from each session page once they are published.
