AI in education webinars worth your time this school year
Updated September 2, 2026 · 20 sessions
Two years into the district AI conversation, the useful webinars have separated themselves from the rest. The weak ones still open with a slide about how many words ChatGPT was trained on. The strong ones start from a decision a district actually has to make: what the acceptable-use policy says, who reviews the tools, how teachers are meant to handle a suspected AI-written essay, and what any of it does to workload.
This roundup collects the sessions on our calendar that fall into the second group. Several are led by district administrators presenting a rollout that has been running long enough to have gone wrong at least once, which is where the transferable detail lives. Others come from researchers and nonprofit programs looking at AI literacy as curriculum rather than as an IT problem.
We refresh this page as new sessions are listed, so the order below always reflects the current calendar. If you can only attend one, choose a policy session first — most classroom questions turn out to be policy questions in disguise.

AI in Education - 06From Efficiency to Efficacy: A New Standard for Measuring AI's Impact in the Classroom
Wed, September 16, 2026 · 4:00 PM UTC · Whiteboard Advisors
Most AI tools in K-12 classrooms are still judged by adoption, engagement, and how much time they save educators. Brisk Teaching's recent white paper, "From Efficiency to Efficacy: Measuring AI's Instructional Impact," highlights that K-12 needs a different yardstick, one grounded in learning science and close enough to everyday classroom practice to show whether AI is actually improving teaching and learning. The metrics we choose don't just determine how we evaluate AI, they shape what developers build, what districts buy, and ultimately how educators use these tools with students. This webinar unpacks a new evaluation framework and explores what districts can measure beyond simply adoption and time savings. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how better measurement can lead to more meaningful uses of AI in classroom instruction as we kick off a new school year.
AI in Education - 07Clear is Kind: Establishing Student AI Expectations for Middle and High School Educators
Wed, September 16, 2026 · 8:00 PM UTC · Ednology Experts
We do our students an unkindness when we do not share clear expectations for acceptable and unacceptable use of generative AI. You'll leave this webinar with a working draft of AI expectations you can use in your classroom, along with research-informed language for talking with students about AI in a way that builds their confidence in their own thinking, rather than their dependence on a tool. Roughly two-thirds of middle schoolers and high schoolers say their school has no school-wide rule for responsible AI use (RAND 2026) — this session unpacks why vague or one-size-fits-all AI policies fail students and walks through a simple stoplight framework (red, yellow, and green zones) that makes the boundaries of AI use clear across every phase of student work, from brainstorming to final submission.
