Session 2: Student Pathways to Economic Mobility: Barriers, Opportunities, and System Strategies
Students evaluate educational value differently depending on where they are in their educational and career journey, and often have different motivations, face different barriers, and pursue different pathways to economic mobility. This session will explore how systems and institutions can better understand the students they serve, identify barriers to strong return on investment outcomes, and design policies, pathways, and supports that improve student success and economic mobility. Participants will learn from examples emerging from the Metrics Academies and discuss practical strategies for aligning recruitment, advising, pathway design, career preparation, and student supports with the needs of diverse student populations.

Session 3: Improving Student ROI is Everyone's Job: How Higher Education Roles and Functions Shape Student Economic Mobility
Student return on investment and economic mobility cannot be improved by a single office, initiative, or data dashboard. Meaningful change requires coordinated action across academic affairs, advising, career services, workforce programs, enrollment management, institutional research, and faculty. Drawing on lessons from the Designing for Economic Mobility Metrics Academies, this session explores how different institutional functions contribute to student ROI and economic mobility outcomes, and how leaders can build the structures, relationships, and shared understanding needed to move from data to action.
- Thu, October 29 · 1:00 PM EDT
Session 4: Employer Partnerships and Workforce Alignment: Building Stronger Connections to Economic Opportunity
As institutions work to improve student return on investment, employer partnerships play a critical role in connecting education to economic opportunity. This session will explore how institutions can respond to labor market needs and leverage employer partnerships to support stronger career outcomes for students, including examples of practical strategies for employer engagement.
